DescriptionErnest Kellogg Gann was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA on October 13, 1910. He flew as an airline pilot, served in World War II, built and sailed boats, and wrote books. His experiences gave him the material for some of his adventure and aviation novels. Many of his books were made into movies including Blaze Noon, Island in the Sky, The High and the Mighty, and Soldier of Fortune. He died at his home in San Juan, Washington, USA on December 19, 1991.
